You know what's annoying about wearing glasses? Other than the fact that when you take them off, you can't see a darn thing. Yes, I'm practically blind. Seriously. Your eyelashes. That's what's annoying.
I can't stand when your eyelashes rub on the lens and your mascara makes smudges all over. Seriously? Why do my glasses make me hate my long eyelashes? Some people pay lots of money to have long, thick eyelashes. Instead, I'm left hating them. I cleaned my glasses no fewer than 96 times today. In fact, in one meeting (a 2 hour meeting), I cleaned them 5 times. I know this because I counted instead of listening to someone tell me about how to be a better teacher. I know, I know.. I should have listened.
Sidenote: Zoey just fell asleep sitting up. Her head nodded and fell on my arm. Weird.

O.M.G.
I just spilled spaghetti-o's on my beige carpet at 9:00 at night. We're talking all.over.the.place red tomato sauce stains. It was all I could do to not cry right then and there. You know I was frazzled when I didn't even bat an eyelash when Zoey (who NEVER gets human food, ever) was eating the noodles while I was trying to clean it all up. I actually appreciated her getting the noodles out of my way so I could do damage control.
On top of that? I didn't have chemicals for the spot bot carpet cleaner AND I hadn't eaten dinner or lunch. So I ran to Tar-jay in my pajama's to get chemicals for the stupid spaghetti-o mess and I hadn't even eaten all day. If you know me in real life, you know I'm one big cranky pants when I haven't eaten.
I want to throw something right now.
And Zoey? She has tomato sauce on her back, her head, and her nose. Is it bad that I don't care enough to clean it up? I've already worked so hard on the carpets.. I can't clean anymore.

You what?
Scissors + 7 year old + an emotionally disturbed diagnosis = a new haircut
Little Dude totally cut Little Miss Diva's hair today. And then laughed. I totally lost my cool and screamed something about we do not disrespect people in this classroom and demanded he get out. He refused. I screamed again. He moved. He said he hated me. I told him he could hate me all he wanted when he was in time out.
Not one of my finer moments as a teacher, but I was hot! It wasn't out of anger. It wasn't out of spite. It was because he thought it was funny. I have zero patience for students who do stupid things just because it's fun. And yes, he said he did it because it was funny.
On a different note.. where is spell check in the new blogger?

The One Where She Whines...
**WARNING: Whining to follow!**
I am annoyed with...
- being an adult and having responsibilities.
- students who repeatedly refuse to follow directions.
- having an IEP meeting tomorrow.
- having to tell a parent that their child is not doing well, despite what they may think about their "angel".
- deadlines, observations, professional development, and meetings.
However, I am loving...
- kids who insist on giving me hugs (even though I may not want them at the time..)
- kids who apologize for not following directions and sincerely mean it.
- Wednesday night television- hello ANTM, Modern Family, and Cougar Town. I heart you.
- my supportive family.
- a puppy who always wants to cuddle.
Thanks for letting me whine.

Grrrrrr...
My stupid washing machine is leaking AND I almost ruined a load of laundry because the bleach didn't dispense in the previous load.
I want to get new dishes because the bowls don't fit very well in my dishwasher and it annoys me every.time.I.load.the.effing.dishwasher.
On a brighter note.. I've completed Day 2 of "Operation Tidy House".. which is at least one load of laundry a day and NO dishes in the sink/counter/table/etc. Only in the dishwasher.
Don't you dare judge me for not doing this previously. I'm turning a new leaf here.
