Mom: "Hey (insert nickname here).. I haven't talked to you in a few days. What's up with that?"
Me: Um.. Well... I've been busy.
Mom: "Oh yeah?"
Me: Well.. actually.. I was almost done with my book on tape and I really wanted to finish it. So, every time I was in the car, I couldn't call you because I was listening to the book.
(It should also be known that every.single.time I drove somewhere, I took the long way AND I would listen for an extra couple of minutes after I turned my car off.)

O.M.G.
I just spilled spaghetti-o's on my beige carpet at 9:00 at night. We're talking all.over.the.place red tomato sauce stains. It was all I could do to not cry right then and there. You know I was frazzled when I didn't even bat an eyelash when Zoey (who NEVER gets human food, ever) was eating the noodles while I was trying to clean it all up. I actually appreciated her getting the noodles out of my way so I could do damage control.
On top of that? I didn't have chemicals for the spot bot carpet cleaner AND I hadn't eaten dinner or lunch. So I ran to Tar-jay in my pajama's to get chemicals for the stupid spaghetti-o mess and I hadn't even eaten all day. If you know me in real life, you know I'm one big cranky pants when I haven't eaten.
I want to throw something right now.
And Zoey? She has tomato sauce on her back, her head, and her nose. Is it bad that I don't care enough to clean it up? I've already worked so hard on the carpets.. I can't clean anymore.

Tonight..
I *heart* To Do Lists.. I make one every morning when I get to school and add to it throughout the day. Nothing excites me more than to cross items off my list. So tonight? I'm making myself a To Do List.
Tonight:
bottleglass of wine- bubble bath
- go to bed ridiculously early

Caution!
I should not be left alone. With the absence of grad classes and the trillions of papers I always had to do... I have a bit of free time on my hands. Hubby is gone for the evening. This is never a good thing. I always come up with some crazy ideas. Once, I tore up the carpeting on the stairs without asking hubby. He was a little surprised when he came home. Another time? I dyed my hair. It turned orange. Then I tried to dye it a more natural color and it turned yellow. Not blonde. Yellow.
This time? I bought a wave maker blow dryer and new sunless tanning lotion. I now have crazy hair and a deep bronze shimmer to my body. Unfortunately, it's not quuuuuuuuuuite right. Streaks and wavy hair just don't mix.

S--lacking...
I'm such a slacker today.
We had a "snow day" today. I use that term loosely because there is only about an inch of snow on the ground and it's covered by ice now. I'm iced in. No fun.
I have a million things I could and should be doing right now (cleaning my house? getting the taping done for painting this weekend?) but I'm slacking because I am lacking motivation!
Ugh.
And to make matters worse? I don't have any bread or milk in the house. I literally cannot get out of my cul-de-sac (neighbor tried-- it didn't work). I just ate a plate full of french fries for lunch. Oops.

Bah Humbug!
I'm pretty sure that I'm Scrooge this year. Before you judge me, let me explain.
- I'm super busy at school.
- I've been working really hard on my papers and projects for my grad classes.
- I have been sick, sick, sick.
- Up until yesterday, it didn't even feel like winter here. I mean, I'm from Michigan.. it's winter when there is snow on the ground. Not when it's 40 some degrees.
- I won't even be here Christmas-New Year's.. so really, what's the point?
If I put the stuff (the tree, decorations, etc) up, it'd be up for a total of 10 days. Is it really worth it? I don't think so.
So yes, I'm scrooge this year. But I'm okay with it. You should be, too.
