During an educational informational insightful conversation with a few co-workers (one social worker and one fellow male teacher) we were discussing the luxuries of spanx. Spanx? World's best invention, after the internet of course, has to be Spanx. I mean, they hug in all the right places and make the buldges disappear.
Male co-worker hadn't ever heard of Spanx. I suppose that's completely normal, as he is single and probably doesn't hang out with lots of ladies getting ready for big events. After a detailed conversation about Spanx, he sheepishly asked us ladies, "Do they make these for men?" We, of course, laughed and laughed. And then? We had a brilliant idea.
Manx.
Spanx for men.

Fishing 101..
When fishing, it is completely appropriate to...
- wear linen pants
- wear a shirt with a bow
- sport flip flops
- make a 7 year old bait your hook
Check.check.check. and check.
In my defense, I didn't know I was going fishing or I would have changed the pants, shirt, and shoes.

Dear Medicine...
While I appreciate your ability to keep me less crazy, I do not appreciate that you have a warning label on the side of you that says I shouldn't drink while taking you. You have the ability to keep me less crazy, yet you make me feel as if I've downed 10 shots after only consuming one drink. After two drinks? Definitely feel as if I've downed 20 shots. You can imagine what drinks 3-4 felt like.
It's always fun when you have to face your parents and grandmother while being completely hung over like a 21 year old. I tried to blame you, dear meds, but they weren't buying it. Even though it really was true.
It's even more fun when you have to delay your 9 hour drive to the following day because you just can't seem to function.
Oops.

What.a.Day.
You know what kind of day it was when I have happy hour on Monday.
Yes, I drank on a Monday night.
To top it off? I was definitely making lunches for tomorrow when hubby came downstairs and said to me, "Why is your purse still on your shoulder?" Um.. excuse me?
Yes, I did have my purse on my shoulder and no I did not realize it was there.
I.am.losing.my.mind.

Face Lift!
I finally came to my senses. The last blog background just wasn't working for me. It was full of crazy code that hubby had to do for me and every time I wanted to simply add a new blog to the blog roll, I had to conference with him. It was a twenty-minute process because I just couldn't be happy with him doing it, I wanted him to teach me to do it.
Well, it would have been if I asked him. But I didn't because I knew how it would play out.
Anyway.. enough rambling. The blog has a new look. I think we'll stick with this for a while.
What do you think?

Bargain shopping
Okay, I'll be the first to admit-- I'm a bit of a clothes snob. My mother made me this way. We shop because we like it, not because we have to. We go to the trendy stores. We love name brands. We're brats like that.
However, once you get married and start living on your own... sometimes things have to change. So I've started shopping around a bit. Grab a cute Target shirt here, a pair of Payless Shoes there, a little Old Navy on top, and throw in a Gap or two just to round it out.
I've met my match. Feline's Basement! LOVE it. I normally hate bargain stores. They never have my size, I can't find the color I like, and most of all-- I actually have to look for things. The instant gratification part of me hates it, but the bargain shopper in me loves finding a good deal!
So far I've purchased a dress, pair of dress pants, two pairs of dress capris, a pair of shoes, and a top and I've been pleased with what I've gotten. The dress fit like a gem. The capris were a size smaller than I normally wear (woo hoo!) and the pants were half off and I didn't even know it! I'm not particularly impressed with their shoe section, but that's okay because DSW is in the same complex and I can use the exercise to walk the 100 yards to it.
Anyone else out there know of any places to find a good bargain?
And... for dinner tonight? Vegetable lasagna. DELISH. And the bonus? The recipe actually is doubled, so you instantly make an extra pan of it and freeze it. That means two dinners with the hassle of one. If you haven't gotten "Taste of Home" or "Simple and Delicious", you don't know what you're missing. The magazines are full of recipes that are quick and easy and we LOVE everything we've made from it. Plus, they are like $10 for a year. Go do it. Now.

Mary, Mary, quite contrary...
... how does your garden grow?
We've got tomatoes, squash, cucumbers, and some peppers! I really have to admit, I didn't think this garden thing was going to work out in our favor. I have never had a green thumb. I'm pretty sure I've even killed plants that people told me were indestructible. Looks like that's not the case anymore! I cannot be more excited! I'm just thinking of all the wonderful veggies we're going to have soon. Of course, I'm a little sad the cantaloupe and the watermelon didn't work out. I just don't think the garden was big enough and it turned into survival of the fittest. The veggies won.
Seriously, the tomatoes are almost baseball-size. The cucumbers are about six inches long and still growing. The peppers are done flowering and you can actually see that there are more than just green leaves. This is just too exciting!
Yay, yay, yay! Looks like we really will be able to expand the garden next year and maybe throw in some other veggies and try the fruit again.

hits, slaps, hair pulls.. oh my!
And it continues.... but today's M.O.? Hair pulling. I was smart enough to not let his mouth near any part of my body, but apparently I forgot how much fun it is to pull hair. Ha.
Ugh. Big dog just got something out of my bag. Gotta go chase her. (are you noticing a theme in my life?!)

I figured it out!
I do know how to put pictures up and it doesn't involve writing a code! YESSSSSS! So I'll leave you with a few puppy pictures because those dogs are just too darn cute.
